OUR VALUES
OUR VALUES
The ennoblement of Gaglioppo and Greco Bianco as winery objectives. But not only. For about 15 years, we have started a research work on native vines, of which Calabria preserves an extraordinary heritage. This is how wines from unique vines are born, such as Calabrese, Pecorello and Greco Nero. The search does not stop only at the discovery, but is realized in valorisation. It is in our vision to start again from the native vines, the rarest and most interesting ones, to propose them in a current, exclusive, and different style. We try in this way to value our traditions.

We believe that the territory is a gift to be thoroughly preserved for ourselves, but above all for future generations. Therefore, we try day by day to operate according to principles of environmental sustainability, to then achieve social and economic sustainability. Since 2013 we cultivate our vineyards organically, and we limit the work of the land to preserve fertility and biodiversity. We are increasingly aware that obtaining high quality grapes and wines means greater gratification not only for us but for all our collaborators. Only in this way can we plan our future.

CARBON DIOXIDE EMISSION
By reducing the weight of the bottles (550 gr) we have achieved a decrease in carbon emissions at zero cost and without any contraindications. We carried out rigorous research that measured the behavior of a vineyard on a daily, monthly and seasonal scale and assessed its ability to absorb or release carbon. Research has confirmed the importance of tree ecosystems such as vineyards, in helping to remove carbon from the atmosphere.
WATER RATIONATION
Rational irrigation management is an essential condition for improving the quality and quantity standards of wineries. To evaluate the effectiveness of our water management, we carried out a study in the period February 2011 – October 2012. Thanks to the data acquired, we assessed water savings of 30% with the same effectiveness as irrigation.
CONVENTIONAL AGRICULTURE
We have adopted the method of integrated agriculture, which provides techniques for the conservation and safety of the environment. In particular, it provides for the minimization of the use of synthetic chemicals and the control of the entire production process. For over 20 years in the vineyards we have applied these techniques: reduction of the use of synthetic chemicals such as pesticides, fertilizers and herbicides; maintenance of soil fertility; crop rotation; prevention of erosion; rational use of water resources.
CERTIFICATION
Our wines are produced following a Self-Control Manual (HACCP) which allows you to minimize the health and hygiene risks associated with the processing itself, in compliance with the provisions of Legislative Decree 26/5/97 No. 155, guaranteeing a safe food product for consumers.

In all our single project we have always started from our territory, Calabria. For the ancient Greeks it was “Enotria Tellus”, land of wine and vines. An extraordinary landscape of coasts, mountains, microclimates, traditions. From Sila to the Ionian sea, from the Pollino to the Tyrrhenian sea, and then Aspromonte, Serre … breathtaking views, contrasts unique in their simplicity, for us always a source of inspiration. In the heart of the Mediterranean, respecting an unbreakable bond.
